Pro Session Telenotes with Tracey Becker Overview  [+]

Pro-Session Script Telenotes with Tracey Becker allows the writer to purchase a consultation with the producer for a specific screenplay they are currently working on or are ready to take to market.

Tracey Becker has been developing and producing entertainment properties for a number of years. Her most notable endeavor to date stemmed from optioning the play “The Man Who Was Peter Pan” from Broadway playwright Allan Knee. She then hired first-time writer David Magee and developed the screenplay with him for 12 months. The team sold the script to Miramax and shot it in London in Summer of 2002. Released in October, 2004, Finding Neverland was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, and won for Best Original Score.

Becker also participated as a featured producer in a short film series sponsored by Glamour Magazine in which she produced a film for first-time director and award-winning actress Julianne Moore. Additionally, she wrote and produced the ½ hour pilot "Soup du Jour" for The Food Network where primetime soap star Liza Akell interviewed soap opera stars and cooked their favorite recipes on air. Show was co-hosted by fictitious character “Prep Chef Larry” whose distinction between the guests real life identity and their on-air characters was badly blurred.

Theatrically, Becker produced Doris Davis’ “Summer Share” at the Theater Row Theater off-Broadway. Well reviewed and playing to packed houses in its limited run, WNBC TV’s Jeffrey Lyons called it “One of the 10 Best Reasons to Visit the Theater This Year”.

During your consultation, you may discuss the viability of the screenplay, marketing and promotion suggestions, estimations regarding how your script may fair in the current marketplace, and much more.

Our Pro-Sessions are conducted by phone. At their conclusion, you will receive a CD recording of your one-hour discussion. As with our written notes and analysis, we know it's important that you actually gain something from the process which you will be able to take with you. The CD will arrive approximately 10-days after the call and will be a great refresher of the ideas discussed.

To purchase a Pro-Session, simply add the service you find most suitable for you to your cart and proceed to check out. Don't forget to specify under Special Submission Instructions which analyst you are interested in holding the conversation with! Once you have placed your order online, you will contacted by ScriptShark to set up the call, which ordinarily takes place within 10 days from date of purchase, pending the producer's availability.

Pro Session Telenotes with Tracey Becker FAQ  [+]

What's the difference between a Pro Overview and a Pro-Session Telenotes?
A Pro-Overview is a general discussion to be had with the producer of your choice. This session allows you to ask general questions about the industry, or receive a tutorial on the business process practiced in the working industry. A Pro-Session Telenotes allows the specific discussion of a screenplay you are currently working on. Prior to your call, the producer of your choice will read and familiarize themselves with the material, so that they may assist you with its progression based on their industry insight and experience.

Can I ask questions in the Pro Overview?
Of course you can. Pro Sessions is designed to provide you with an arena to discuss the areas you have questions about. In order to utilize your time most efficiently, we suggest that you prepare a list of issues and questions, which will ensure that the topics you are most interested in are covered.

Can I talk about a specific project in the Pro Overview?
No. The Pro Sessions Overview will provide a general foundation of the industry as opposed to specifics about a piece of material. While the Producers may be able to answer some general questions in relation to a specific script, they will not have read the script in question, and therefore will not be able to provide all the insight you are looking for. Therefore, if you are seeking guidance and expertise regarding a specific project, we recommend you elect Pro Sessions Telenotes.

How do I know the producers have read the whole script?
With sixty minutes of phone call to fill, our producers must not only be familiar with the material, but ready to discuss it in detail. Therefore, they will have read and analyzed the screenplay by the time you get on the phone. They spend an extensive amount of time before the conference preparing their notes, eager to provide you with effective thoughts on the development of your material.

Will these producers purchase/produce my screenplay?
No. While a relationship will certainly be created, the goal of this service is to work through a set of notes as if the material was already in development. Going into the call, it's important to remember that you're working at a stage beyond the pitch process - you are working on your screenplay with a producer. This session is not meant to be a pitch session, which would be the first step

Do I get notes on the screenplay?
Yes. The notes you will receive from the Pro Sessions Telenotes phone call will come in the form of a CD, which you will receive approx. 10 days after your call is conducted. Less rigid than our standard written Story Notes, Pro Sessions uses conversational, audio techniques to deliver clear and concise thoughts on material.

Why am I required to sign both a Producer's Release, as well as the ScriptShark release?
Coming in contact with so much material, it's vital for producers to use forms developed by their own legal team to protect themselves when receiving submissions from parties they are not familiar with. In order for ScriptShark to bring this service to you, it's important that our Producers feel secure reading your material and discussing it in detail.
