A New Contest Design
The ScriptShark Insider Screenwriting Competition was specifically designed to be more than a simple writing contest. While we certainly felt it was important to offer financial prizes for well-executed screenplays, we have also placed extra emphasis on making something happen AFTER the contest. In order to help achieve this, we called upon our long list of contacts to open their doors and take a formal pitch meeting at the conclusion of the competition. |
|
It Starts With The Writing
The ScriptShark Insider Competition will not only get its top material in the hands of professionals, but will do so as part of the competition itself. The executives, producers and reps on The Board will not only read the material, but they will actually judge the final group - immediately thrusting the contest into a high-level professional community. We are looking to help writers get discovered, and getting material in front of buyers is the best way. |
|
Pitch Your Movie
The winner of the competition will fly to Los Angeles, where they will work through a multi-tiered process in which they will prepare for and ultimately take part in a set of formal feature film pitches, spearheaded by Literary Manager Colin O'Reilly. At that point, the competition will shift from undiscovered writers, to working scribes, already active in the market place. |
|
Redefine Your Goals
Over the next few years, The ScriptShark Insider Competition will not only locate top material, but track down great talent and showcase them in the offices of those who make films happen. We will train these writers to walk into a pitch meeting and feel confident in both their story and material. |
